We had a wonderful discussion today in the FIT studio about Digital Badges. Thank you to Jaime Hannans for sharing her experience starting a Digital Badge program in Nursing at CI. Jaime started this program last year with funding last year from the CSU Channel Islands Presidents Foundation Fund. Her goal was to investigate the potential of using digital badges to recognize accomplishments of students that go beyond a class grade or degree. Jaime has written about digital badges on the T&L Innovations blog and in the VC Star. She also developed a Digital Badges in Nursing website that provides a glimpse into the project at CI and the research supporting the effort.
