Behind the Scenes of Legends of Academia: Crafting a Gamified Adventure with AI

When we first envisioned Legends of Academia, we knew we wanted it to be different. This wasn’t going to be just another online course for faculty development, it had to feel like an adventure. Our goal was to create an experience that was infused with the nostalgic spirit of 8-bit video games, where each module would move the story forward, inviting faculty to not just learn about AI, but to live it.

The challenge? Building a world that feels alive and vibrant through creative uses of AI tools.

Building Visual Magic: SORA AI for Stunning Graphics

The vibrant, pixelated world we wanted to create needed more than just video stitching and music—it needed stunning visuals that could transport faculty into our “Legends” universe. SORA AI became my visual engine, helping generate detailed 8-bit and retro-style art assets that were seamlessly woven into the video trailers.

From enchanted libraries to futuristic battle arenas, SORA AI visuals helped breathe life into scenes that would otherwise live only in imagination.

Of course, it wasn’t a one prompt answer. Getting AI to generate the perfect image was trial and error. It often required refining the prompt or generating the same one multiple times over.

Setting the Mood: ChatGPT + SUNO AI for Dynamic Music

Music was a critical piece of the puzzle. I turned to ChatGPT to brainstorm the perfect moods and emotional tones for each trailer: Was this module a thrilling battle of wits? A quiet moment of reflection? A triumphant victory?

Once the mood and tone were clear, I moved to SUNO AI. Using detailed prompts based on the emotional arcs crafted with ChatGPT, I generated original music that felt tailor-made for each trailer. SUNO AI gave the project its unique auditory soul, syncing perfectly with the visual journey.

Stitching Together the Story: Video Production with Premiere Pro

The visual heartbeat of Legends of Academia lies in its module trailers. Using Adobe Premiere Pro, I meticulously stitched together scenes, animations, and transitions to create cinematic experiences for each stage of the journey. Every trailer was designed not just to tell a story, but to excite—pulling faculty deeper into the narrative of becoming “Legends” in their own academic domains.

Weaving the Threads Together

What made this project special was not any single tool, but how all the tools worked together. ChatGPT, SUNO AI, SORA AI, and Premiere Pro each played their part—not as isolated utilities, but as collaborators in a larger, creative space.

Through this dynamic AI integration, Legends of Academia became more than a course; it became an immersive story where every trailer, every module, and every choice faculty make moves them forward towards eternal glory!
