Many words come to mind to describe Isaac Ortiz. He is kindhearted, adventuresome, a visionary, and even, a pokemon master. From a small city in Riverside County, Isaac spent his childhood running around the neighborhood with his friends filming sketches he had written. While a star high school soccer player, Isaac always showed flair in videography and scriptwriting. Arriving at CSU Channel Islands in Fall 2015 as a business major, Isaac recognized his capability and switched to a discipline in Performing Arts. Providing for himself throughout college, working up to three jobs at one point, Isaac enjoyed his personal work in event videography and photography. He joined the TLi team in Fall 2018 as a student assistant and primarily assisted Ben Hytrek, TLi’s Academic Media Specialist. Isaac’s confidence grew as he produced more and more projects. His daily work filled him with a sense of pride as he was able to help professors have their “eureka” moments and create stunning video projects. Flourishing in Canvas support for faculty members across campus and video work with various disciplines, Isaac became a friendly face around the FIT Studio.

Graduating in Winter 2020 with a B.A. in Performing Arts, with an emphasis in Theatre, Isaac was brought on as an Instructional Technologist. Under the mentorship of Ben Hytrek and the stunning TLi team, Isaac continues to grow into his professional identity while cultivating his personal film work.

Below are just some of the many examples of how Isaac has improved and flourished in his passion over the years.
