Chris brings over 20 years of higher education, web design and development experience with him to CI. In 2012, when the opportunity to take helm of the Academic Technology team at the young, innovative and rapidly growing CI became available, it was an offer too good to pass up.
Chris is passionate about improving people’s’ lives through education. As a first generation college student himself, he knows the struggles and rewards of a great liberal education, and has dedicated his life to supporting that opportunity for others. Chris has been fortunate throughout his career to learn from many incredible mentors and world-class teachers. He has found that supporting teaching and learning with technology opens the doors of conversation while acting as a catalyst for pedagogical empowerment.
He has taught courses in Web Design & Development, Digital Imaging, ePortfolio Development, Robotics and Marine Biology. He’s an active author with Lynda.com with over 80,000 learners taking his courses such as Moodle Essential Training for Teachers, iBooks Author Essential Training and Camtasia Studio Essential Training. As a marine biologist & underwater photographer he has conducted research on coral florescence and chemical communication in soft corals throughout the Caribbean and Great Barrier Reef.
