Instructional Designer for CODEL
Lorna Gonzalez is an Instructional Designer for the Collaborative Online Doctorate in Educational Leadership (CODEL), a joint doctoral program collaboration between CSUCI and CSU Fresno. She came to CSUCI in 2012 as a lecturer in the School of Education, where she continues to teach courses on Secondary English Methods and Literacy Across Content Areas. She is also a Faculty Course Reviewer with Teaching and Learning Innovations. She earned her Ph.D. in Education from UC Santa Barbara, where her specialization was language, literacy, and composition, and her degree included an interdisciplinary emphasis in Technology and Society. Prior to joining CSUCI’s School of Education, Lorna taught high school English in the Oxnard Union High School District.
She is interested in ways that emerging educational technologies offer affordances for online, blended, and technology-supplemented learning experiences, and she believes in privileging the human teaching and learning experience in course design.
Lorna is a nearly life-long Ventura County resident and is proud to have been a student, a teacher, and now a parent of children in Camarillo public schools.
